The Council of Elders of Yerevan will put into circulation a project according to which cultural activities will be prohibited in a number of central streets of Yerevan. the municipality informs about this.

"Residents of the buildings of Republic Square, Northern Avenue and A. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet regularly speak out about the damage to their peace and health caused by the cultural activities of itinerant musicians in these areas.

In addition, many problems arise for the entities conducting commercial activities in the areas adjacent to the mentioned sectors, leaving a negative impact on tourism.

Based on the circumstances listed above, the public order protection service of the Yerevan Municipality staff came up with an initiative, according to which a draft decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders will be put into circulation.

Accordingly, cultural activities will be prohibited in the following areas of Yerevan.

Republic Square and the area adjacent to it with a radius of 100 meters,

Area enclosed by Mashtots avenue-Sayat-Nova avenue-Teryan-Tumanyan streets,

North Avenue and the adjacent area with a radius of 100 meters," the message states.

By the decision of Yerevan Council of Elders of September 12, 2023 N 849-N, the conditions, requirements and restrictions for the use of public outdoor places (street, sidewalk, square, park, park, etc.) of the city of Yerevan were defined for the purpose of cultural activities.
