Against the backdrop of the "trial" of Armenian prisoners of war/prisoners of war being held in Baku, the psychological and physical violence against them, and the serious threats they face, the issue of expelling the International Committee of the Red Cross from Azerbaijan has been put on the agenda in Azerbaijan. Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the NA "I Have Honor" faction, wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“As was the case with various NGOs, international organizations, or media outlets, first a propaganda attack against them begins within the country, then accusations are made of espionage activities or another episode.

There is no serious international pressure on Azerbaijan, which is gradually moving from authoritarianism to totalitarianism.

One day a media outlet is closed, the next day people are arrested for expressing free speech, not to mention the fact that Azerbaijan consistently shuts down all media outlets and organizations that can somehow document the rapid decline of democracy and the rise of violence in the country.

From our perspective, the problem is more complicated because various connections and contacts with our compatriots in Baku prisons take place through the Red Cross.

"I'm not saying yet that visual contact and a more or less objective picture of external inspections are obtained through that committee," he wrote.
