Andranik Kocharyan offered to send students to positions to perform engineering works. Papikyan and Andreasyan approved the "idea"

Andranik Kocharyan, the chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security Affairs of the National Assembly, proposes to form student volunteer squads that will take part in certain engineering works. This was reported by the press service of the National Assembly.

In particular, it is stated in the message:

"According to the deputy, the idea of the initiative arose during the visits to front-line engineering structures with the leadership of the commission and the defense department.

The chairman of the commission informed that he has discussed the proposal with the members of the commission he heads and with the ministers of defense and KGMS, getting their approval. According to Andranik Kocharyan, those students who will participate in the program will be encouraged by the state.

The initiative was discussed on June 26 with representatives of the National Assembly deputies, the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Military Academy named after Vazgen Sargsyan, and the Higher Education and Science Committee.

Participants welcomed the idea. It was noted that the proposal was sent to higher education institutions and there are already responses.

The project is planned to be implemented in July-August. The cadets of the military academy named after Vazgen Sargsyan will be in charge of the student squads to be formed, girls will also be included in the groups.

Andranik Kocharyan noted that the program will give young people the opportunity to participate in the solution of the country's defense problems, to acquire new skills, to get acquainted with the everyday life of the army. According to the deputy, after studying the international experience, it was found that similar programs are implemented in a number of European countries.

The participants discussed in detail issues related to the implementation of the project."
