Arno Avetisyan and Khachatur Avetisyan, members of the Armenian junior tennis team, took second place in the doubles competition of the European Under-14 Development Championship held in Antalya, Turkey. This is reported by the official website of KGSMS.

In the same age group, Maria Azizyan and Gayane Bznuni reached the semi-finals in doubles, but lost.

Armenian youth tennis players participated in the championship under the leadership of coach Mikael Avetisyan.

Samvel Gevorgyan reached the semi-finals in the U12 international tournament.

Representatives of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Turkey and other countries also took part in the tournaments.

According to Gevorg Karamanukyan, executive director of the Tennis Federation of Armenia, the young tennis players had quite satisfying competitions.

"Our young tennis players are really achieving good results and playing a very successful game. Nevertheless, we perform more successfully in doubles, but I am sure that we will improve the results in singles as well and we will be able to repeat Mikael Avanesyan's performance. In the 20-year history of the European Development Championship, only Avanesyan among the representatives of Armenia became the winner of the singles match in 2022," says Gevorg Karamanukyan.

The Executive Director of the Federation also informed that on March 11-23, the International Tennis Federation ranking tournament between boys and girls under 18 years of age will be held in the main sports complex of Tsaghkadzor, in which more than 100 tennis players from 28 countries will participate.
