CNN is requesting the tape of Biden's conversation

CNN is suing US President Joe Biden and special counsel Robert Hoyer for access to tapes of conversations between US President Joe Biden and special counsel Robert Hoyer over alleged mishandling of classified documents.

According to CNN, their conversation is one of the most visible and politically divisive parts of the Hyor investigation. In his final report, the prosecutor called the 81-year-old Biden "a compassionate, friendly, elderly man with a bad memory."

After Hyor's February report was made public, the US Department of Justice published a transcript of the conversation with Biden. However, the department also has the recording of the conversation. As CNN explains, without access to the records, the press and the public at first could not draw conclusions about how Hyor characterized Biden.

The channel described Biden's conversation with Hyor as unusual, as it is the only time in decades that a sitting president has agreed to an interview with a prosecutor looking into possible charges against the leader of the White House.
