Former Sevilla and Barcelona defender Dani Alves' lawyers have posted bail of €1m, allowing the Brazilian to be released pending a final court ruling on his appeal. Alves spent 14 months in custody, Marca reports.

It was reported earlier that the Alves family intends to take a loan of 1 million euros, which is necessary for bail in court.

On February 22, the Barcelona court sentenced 40-year-old Alves to 4.5 years in prison for raping a girl in a nightclub in the capital of Catalonia in 2022. In addition, the Brazilian was obliged to pay 150 thousand euros to the victim as moral compensation.
