Davit Torosyan, bronze medalist of the European University Games

Davit Torosyan, a second-year student of the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Armenia, won a bronze medal in the taekwondo competition of the European University Games (EUG) held in Hungary. This is reported by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

 

At the European University Games (G-1), Davit Torosyan, defeating the Portuguese and English athletes, stood on the third step of the podium.

 

The taekwondo team included the title-winning athletes of the Armenian championships, participants of various international tournaments, Meline Hovhannisyan and Davit Torosyan.

 

To remind, earlier the chess team of HFKSPI also became the bronze medalist of the European University Games (EUG). Grandmaster Mamikon Gharibyan and Artyom Manukyan participated in the Armenian team.

 

The students of HFKSPI and the State University of Economics of Armenia take part in the games. ASTU students will compete in girls' table tennis, and HFKSPI students will compete in para table tennis and taekwondo.

 

ASTU girls' table tennis team includes Mane Ghazaryan, Asya Poghosyan and Rima Khlghatyan, champion of the individual championship of Armenia. The coach is Mesrop Ghukasyan, a lecturer at the HFKSPI, who is also included in the coaching staff of the Armenian table tennis team.

 

Armenia will be represented by Gevorg Beglaryan, a student of HFKSPI, in the table tennis competition. He will be accompanied by coach Rima Begoyan.
