"Hraparak": Will drivers join the boycott?

The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “According to our information, public transport drivers will not interfere with the public boycott of the transport price increase, essentially defeating the government’s fare increase reform. Let us remind you that Hayk Marutyan proposes to start a boycott from February 1: “We get on the bus, put 100 drams in any coins on the bus equipment panel and sit down. We do not enter into any debate with the drivers, because they are also among the victims of this shameful law. By the way, the drivers have no legal right to demand from you to pay 300 drams.”

Earlier, the "Mother Armenia" faction called for a boycott starting February 1. It should also be noted that in recent months, drivers have gone on strike several times, complaining that their incomes have decreased after the introduction of electronic ticketing systems. Citizens used to pay themselves, but now they only pay with checks and bank cards.

"In other words, they are in favor of the boycott, as it could lead to a return to the previous payment format. We were told that the drivers even discussed it and decided not to obstruct the boycott."
