"I didn't even let myself dream about all this. When we won in Cannes, we were both tense and happy, we had no idea what was happening," actor Vache Tovmasyan told Channel One.
Speaking about the film "Anora," he noted that they knew they were creating something good and unique, but they had no idea that it would be so loved, successful, and appreciated.
"We understood at the Oscars that we would be nominated, but no American director had won for several years, it was an achievement even for them."
"Anora had 104 wins at various awards before the Oscar. But I think the Oscar is a dream for anyone in filmmaking," he said.
Karen Karagulyan also noted that life doesn't change after the Oscar, it just gives you the opportunity to be listened to more.
"Before, even if you hit the doors with your head, they wouldn't open, now they open more easily," Karagulyan noted.
Earlier, in an interview with Tert.am Life, the actor said that most of his and Vache Tovmasyan's Armenian dialogues were improvised.
"I left Armenia in 1988 and never learned to speak Armenian properly. And now my language is like in the movie: half Russian, half Armenian," he noted.
Let us remind you that the 97th Academy Awards ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, during which the film "Anora" starring Armenian actors Karen Karagulyan and Vache Tovmasyan won 5 Oscars. "Anora" was recognized as the "Best Picture" of the awards ceremony.
