Iran facilitated the entry of Armenian cars into Iran

Iran Tourism and Automobile Club has presented a new initiative to facilitate the entry of vehicles from Armenia to the Islamic Republic, Tehran Times writes.

The program, aimed at reducing customs procedures and speeding up cross-border travel, was officially launched on Saturday at a ceremony attended by Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Reza Salehi Amiri.

Within the framework of the initiative, Armenian citizens traveling to Iran can now obtain Carnet de Passages or customs transit documents for their vehicles, which will allow them to enter the country with minimal delay.

The program, launched via video conference on the second day of Iran's National Tourism Week, aims to simplify customs formalities and expand international road travel between Iran and neighboring countries.

Several other officials attended the ceremony at a hotel in Tehran, including Deputy Tourism Minister Ali-Asghar Shalbafyan and the club's CEO Mohammad-Hossein Sufi.

With a direct connection from the Norduz border terminal in East Azerbaijan province, bordering Armenia, Tourism and Automobile Club spokesman Shahab Malmir supervised the temporary entry of the first Armenian car into Iran. The official entry was allowed by Minister Saleh Amir during the live broadcast.

Moreover, the program is designed to reduce the number of intermediaries, reduce costs and waiting time at the border and promote international road travel, it will boost Iran's tourism industry, strengthen ties with neighboring countries and attract more tourists from Armenia and beyond. .

The Tourism and Automobile Club is affiliated with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts. Its tasks include the travel of foreign vehicle owners or foreign tourists in Armenia and the establishment of tourist information offices abroad, as well as the development of infrastructure and tourist services.
