"Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by the Vice President of the European Commission, Commissioner for the Promotion of European Lifestyle Margaritis Skhinas.

The Prime Minister welcomed the visit of Mr. Skhinas to Armenia and noted that it will contribute to the discussion of the Armenia-EU cooperation agenda and the further development of cooperation. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that this is an important moment for the relations between the European Union and the Republic of Armenia. "I am glad that there are noticeable changes in our relations. negotiations on the liberalization of the visa regime are starting, a decision was made to support the Republic of Armenia with the European Peace Fund, which we highly appreciate," said the Prime Minister. According to Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia is actually expanding its agenda with the European Union. The Prime Minister added that especially after his speech in the European Parliament last year, discussions are underway in our country regarding the possibility of the Republic of Armenia becoming a member of the European Union. "This is not a simple issue, but it has become part of the Armenian political agenda, so it is necessary to approach this topic in detail and comprehensively. Here, it will be important to listen to the observations and advice of our EU partners," said the Head of Government. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the activities of the European Civilian Mission in Armenia in the context of ensuring peace and stability in the region. The Prime Minister also emphasized the close cooperation with the EU in promoting institutional reforms in our country more effectively.

Margaritis Schinas emphasized the interest of the European Union to develop relations with Armenia, to contribute to the promotion of reforms in Armenia. At the same time, the Vice President of the European Commission expressed hope for effective cooperation with the Government of Armenia on visa liberalization dialogue.

The interlocutors also discussed issues related to the implementation of the agreements reached at the high-level meeting of the RA Prime Minister, the President of the European Commission and the US Secretary of State in Brussels on April 5 of this year. Thoughts were exchanged on other issues of regional importance."
