It is known where Armenia ranks in the World Bank's price ranking

In the World Bank's price ranking (low to high), Armenia took the 62nd place.

According to the exchange of Sputnik Armenia, the rating compares the amounts in national currencies for the purchase of the same volume of goods in different countries (on the principle of purchasing power parity of currencies).

For comparison, 60th and 61st places were occupied by Nigeria and Bolivia, 63rd and 64th places were occupied by Malawi and Eswatini. Georgia is 35th, Russia - 81st, Iran - 10th.

Basically, the first places (with the lowest prices) are low-income countries (Afghanistan, Laos, Myanmar, etc.), where prices cannot be high due to low solvency.

The most expensive prices are not only in developed countries (Switzerland, Canada, the USA, Iceland, Norway, etc.), but also in resort and offshore zones (Bermunda, Cayman Islands, Barbados, etc.), where, for obvious reasons, there are also very rich people, so the prices are higher.

There are also exceptions to the rule. for example, Iran (which is by no means the poorest country in the world) is 10th, mainly due to the extremely low prices of gasoline and gas for local consumers.

The World Bank compiled the rating based on the results of 2022, when Armenia had high inflation (8-9% or more). In 2023, it started to decrease and became negative in recent months. However, this is not reflected in the ranking (because the data for 2023 is not yet ready for all countries of the world).
