I will not even talk about the observation points that were installed on the border with Azerbaijan in 2020 at the personal request of the Prime Minister of Armenia and with Russian financial resources, to which the Armenian side has not given legislative status, despite the fact that quite a lot of money from the Russian state budget was spent. he said.
He emphasized that such accusations are made by one of the highest officials who knows from the inside what is happening in Armenian-Russian relations. According to the ambassador, Simonyan knows very well that Russia was the only country that took all possible measures to stop the slaughter and disaster, when the situation was extremely difficult for Russia as well. Kopirkin has a question: when such accusations are made in public, why is this done? The diplomat emphasized that he is not against the criticism of Russian approaches. He emphasized that it is possible to disagree, to say that Armenia hoped for something, but Russia did not do as it should. But when it comes to outright lies, the question is how it all compares to the real interests of ordinary people.
"You are talking about Russia, which is the main economic donor, where the main part of RA products are exported, where hundreds of thousands of Armenians work, where the largest Armenian diaspora is located. Armenian-Russian relations are a vital issue for many people living in Armenia and Russia. And when one of the leaders of the country says something like that, I wonder whose interests he is guided by," the ambassador said.
The diplomat noted that in the contacts with the Armenian partners, the representatives of the Russian Federation offer to discuss all issues in an atmosphere of trust. Including in the issues of CSTO activities. Kopirkin emphasized that only Russia has security resources here. But, according to him, there is no answer to those proposals, instead such statements are allowed.
