Notification to schoolchildren regarding the start of classes
Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan signed an order back in 2023, approving the exemplary curricula for the 2024-2025 academic year (grades 1, 4, 9, 11 and 12) of educational institutions implementing basic (general, specialized and special) state programs of general education.
The 2024-2025 academic year's classes in grades 1-12 of educational institutions implementing basic (general, specialized and special) state programs for general education begin on September 2, 2024, and end on May 23, 2025, in the case of a 5-day working week, and on May 24, in the case of a 6-day working week, ensuring at least 30 academic weeks: for the first, 32 for the second, and 34 for the third to twelfth grades.
Holidays
In the 2024-2025 academic year:
1) During the academic year, students in grades 3-12 are given vacations: fall: from October 21 to 27, 2024 inclusive, winter: from December 23, 2024 to January 5, 2025 inclusive, spring: from March 24 to 30, 2025 inclusive.
2) Autumn vacations for first-graders are given from October 14 to 27, 2024 inclusive, winter vacations from December 23, 2024 to January 19, 2025 inclusive, and spring vacations from March 17 to 30, 2025 inclusive.
3) Fall vacations for second graders are from October 21 to 27, 2024 inclusive, winter vacations from December 23, 2024 to January 19, 2025 inclusive, and spring vacations from March 24 to 30, 2025 inclusive.
In the event of force majeure (adverse weather conditions, spread of acute infectious diseases, natural disasters, etc.), the institution may implement the general education core curriculum remotely, in accordance with the order of the Minister of Education, Science and Technology.
In the event of force majeure, the Ministry may establish additional leave by making changes to the schedules of educational activities and leave established for students. In the event of force majeure, it may establish additional leave based on the institution's application, notifying the Ministry in writing within 5 working days.
Changes to vacation dates in institutions subordinate to the Ministry, as well as the provision of additional vacation by the institution, are made on the initiative of the Institution, with the consent of the Ministry.
