Particularly serious crimes in Armenia increased by 13.2%

According to the data of the first 8 months of 2024, the number of particularly serious crimes in Armenia increased by 146 or 13.2% (not counting sudden deaths by 16 or 4.5%).


The data were taken from the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.


There was an increase of 52 or 8% for intentional harm to health, 34 or 8.8% for hooliganism, 106 or 7.4% for fraud and 5 or 11.1% for with: cases of banditry.


1,946 cases of illegal drug trafficking were recorded, of which 1,168 were sales.


220 cases of illegal drug trafficking through the Internet were registered, of which 53 cases involved sales and 167 cases involved acquisition.


Currently, there are about 500 pages of drug sales, of which about 300 are shops, 15 of which have been blocked. Work on blocking others is ongoing.


In total, 161 kg 527 g of various types of narcotic drugs were found and confiscated in the current year.
