"Zhoghovurd" daily writes: "The next lawsuit will be submitted to the court against the Yerevan Council of Elders. This time, the decision to deprive Hayk Marutyan of his mandate will be challenged.

Thus, at the February 7 session, by the decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders, 3 members of the opposition, Sona Aghekyan and Narine Hayrapetyan from the "Mother Armenia" faction, and Hayk Marutyan, the former mayor of Yerevan from "National Progress", were deprived of their mandates.

The basis of the council's decision was disrespectful absences and non-participation in project votes, which were exclusively for political purposes.

"Zhoghovurd" daily found out that the "National Progress" faction of the Council of Elders is going to file a lawsuit against this decision and dispute the issue of depriving Hayk Marutyan of his mandate.

"Depriving a council member of his mandate is an illegality, an abomination. We will challenge this. when we present the issue, we will announce it," the faction leader Aram Torosyan told us.

Earlier, we reported that "Mother Armenia" also submitted a lawsuit to the Administrative Court against the decision to deprive the council members of their mandates.
