Shoigu arrives in North Korea

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has arrived in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea , for talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and other top officials, the agency reported.

On March 16, it was reported that North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hee met with a Russian delegation led by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko. According to KCNA, the minister had a “friendly conversation” with the delegation. The meeting was attended by employees of the Foreign Ministry, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the DPRK.

In February, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in the Kremlin. As noted by KCNA, the meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere.
