South Korean president arrested

Investigators have arrested ousted South Korean President Yun Seok-yeol and taken him in for questioning, Yonhap reports.

Yoon Seok-yeol considers his persecution illegal.

Recall that in early December, Yun Seok-yeol attempted to declare martial law in the country, and was later impeached and accused of rebellion. In late December, the Seoul District Court issued an arrest warrant for the South Korean leader.

In early January , investigators had already tried to arrest Yun, but after several hours of clashes with the presidential security service, they decided to suspend the execution of the order.
