The European Parliament yesterday adopted the resolution "On the need for closer ties between the EU and Armenia and a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia."

At today's government session, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that this resolution expresses unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Armenia.

"With this resolution, the CE recorded Armenia's achievements in the field of democracy, rule of law, fight against corruption, which is extremely important for the international perception of our country," he said.

According to Pashinyan, this resolution should become a subject of public discussion in Armenia.

"This is another occasion to discuss the vision of the future of Armenia, and I hope that the political forces of Armenia, non-governmental organizations, different layers of society, citizens will express their attitude towards this message from the Council of Ministers, because such messages need a much wider response than the government and the National Assembly," said the Prime Minister.

Nikol Pashinyan said that the RA government has the will to continue working on the further deepening and development of Armenia-EU relations.
