The famous khachkar of the 13th century in Tsar village of occupied Artsakh is no longer in its place. it is assumed that this unique example of Armenian khachkar work has been destroyed


The Azerbaijanis destroyed the memorial dedicated to the Armenian servicemen who died in the Artsakh War of Independence, located in Tsar village of Artsakh. protocol khachkar, informs the "Research Center of Historical and Cultural Heritage".

"Photos published on the Internet show that the famous khachkar of the 13th century in the Tsar village of Artsakh is no longer in its place. Our observations and searches regarding the physical condition of the khachkar remained fruitless. Taking into account Azerbaijan's policy towards the Armenian historical and cultural heritage, it can be assumed that this unique example of Armenian khachkar work has been destroyed.

Let's remind that the khachkar culture is one of the original manifestations of the Armenian historical and cultural heritage, the art and meditation of its creation as early as 2010. was valued and included in UNESCO's "List of Intangible Cultural Heritage", the "Historical-Cultural Heritage Research Center" noted.
