The sellers of the Komitas market are in a desperate situation, they are forced to vacate the premises

On the eve of March 8, the sellers of the Komitas market were "surprised" by being informed that they had to vacate the market area. The workers are in a desperate situation, they don't know what to do, where to go.

"They came and said bad news. you must vacate the premises by March 15. Everyone got mixed up, they just said, 'We are giving you 25 days, find a place for your goods and yourself,'" one of the market sellers told "Sputnik Armenia" .

The sellers have requests to extend the time until the end of the year. They say that they stood in the cold, they froze, now they want to be able to sell at least seasonal fruits and vegetables.

They pay 2000-3000 drams per day in the market. This is advantageous to the extent that they have nothing to do with the tax field, and to sell in stores, they have to pay rent to the store and to the SRC.

"How much profit do we have if we give 5% to the taxman and 10% to the store rent?" We are employed like a "rabbi", let's give everything to this and that. How should we do it, where should we sell it?" complained another employee.

Many people have been selling their products in Komitas market for 30-40 years, they have learned the area and have their regular customers. They tried to understand from the directorate what will be the fate of the market, they even suggested that if it will be repaired and become a market again, they are ready to pay more in the future, just to continue their work. However, as of now, nothing is known about them.

"We don't have a way of life, they caught this too, closed it, how are we going to do it, how should we live?" Along with that, they say that they will make the transport more expensive, as if they were going to bury them in a heap," added one of the elderly sellers.

There are about 70 sellers in Komitas market. some of them bring their goods from the village and sell them, and some are resellers.

The media also tried to contact the directorate of the market, but the calls remained unanswered.

According to "Sputnik Armenia", the Komitas market was bought by "GTB Holding", which is also building the Ararat Marz metallurgical plant.
