We want to replace the contact line with a border, it will build a legal fence. Pashinyan to the people of Kirants

Today there are many questions that I will not answer, not because I can't imagine them, but because the answer to those questions must be formulated by agreements and it does not depend only on us.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this during a meeting with the residents of Kirants yesterday, March 18.

"We can go to solutions with at least a certain level of confidence that we will provide security. We want to replace the contact line with a border. A border is a phenomenon that builds a legal fence. The most important result of the border demarcation could be that the troops leave their positions and the border guards come instead, because it is not customary to shoot at each other where the border guards are standing. They shoot because there is a dispute, if there is no dispute, there is no point in shooting. "If we draw the border, fix it and ensure that there are no clashes between the inhabitants of the villages, if we exclude the occasions for this, shooting becomes meaningless if the country does not declare war on the country," the Prime Minister said.

According to Pashinyan, if the country has a border, it has a legal fence, and the country has to decide whether it wants to have a physical fence or not.

To the question of one of the residents that until recently the border was passing through his house according to Google maps, and now it has moved only a few meters, but how will they live in that house in the presence of soldiers, Pashinyan answered that they should come and give the answer to that question.

"Now, during the upcoming works and negotiations, we must also put your question on the table, that is, how will this person live in his house, what guarantees do we give?" And that should be the question that not only the RA government should answer, but also Azerbaijan. I have come now not to answer your question, but to take your question, take it with me and put it on the table of the demarcation work agenda," he added.
