What's happening in the construction industry, and what to expect in 2025: "Fact"

The "Fact" daily writes:

It turns out that construction volumes in January-December 2024 increased by 14.5% or 709.5 trillion drams compared to the same period of the previous year. Naturally, in January-December 2024, most construction work was carried out in Yerevan, where the majority of the housing stock and new buildings in Armenia are concentrated.

According to experts, this circumstance is primarily due to the fact that the income tax refund system is still in operation in Yerevan, although even in that case, many do not consider the growth rates to be encouraging. Moreover, according to economists, some declines are possible in the near future, although some growth will be ensured due to the continuation of previously started construction.

However, the fact remains that according to last year's data, construction is one of the leading sectors among taxpayers, along with retail and wholesale trade and industry. Moreover, it is interesting that the list of 1,000 largest taxpayers includes not only construction organizations themselves, but also large networks that provide repair, furnishing, as well as accessories for furniture production. For example, the company "Domus" is not only in the top thousand, but also took a place in the top hundred taxpayers with 3.3 billion drams in taxes.

By the way, let us add that in the residential construction sector, 1 million 261 thousand square meters of area was commissioned in 2024, which is 80% more than the previous year's figure.
