The haste shown in signing the Charter of Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the United States is clear: with this document, the United States sends greetings to the presidents of Russia and Iran.
Political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan wrote on his Facebook page:
"The haste shown in signing the Charter of Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the United States is clear: with this document, the United States sends greetings to the presidents of Russia and Iran, who are preparing to sign a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in Moscow on January 17."
A careful reader of the Armenian-American document will see that there are many provisions that are disturbing (if not threatening) to Iran and Russia. The signed charter, in fact, makes Armenia a tool for implementing US control programs in the region, which can be used at any time against both Moscow and Tehran. And this will at least mean a counteraction. Unfortunately, Armenia continues to remain a place of conflict of interests of geopolitical centers, which contains many dangers for us.
The Armenian authorities are consistently worsening relations with Russia and Iran. This is no longer a refusal to cooperate, but a concrete conflict. What can Armenia gain from this conflict? Of course, only new losses. And what are the guarantees that our country can withstand all these conflicts that are taking place in parallel with Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran and Russia? There are no such guarantees. Therefore, what is the real goal of the Pashinyan government?
Pashinyan and Mirzoyan took another step last night to bring war closer to our country's borders. I'm afraid it's already inevitable. I'm sure that Azerbaijani diplomats have been standing in front of the doors of the Russian and Iranian foreign ministries since 6 am with the protocol signed between Armenia and the US in their hands. A few days ago, Aliyev assured that a possible war for Syunik would not be directed against Moscow and Tehran. From today on, he will say that this war is for their interests. And, in a sense, he will be right.
"Here's what Pashinyan and Mirzoyan did the other day, I'm sure, at the behest of the same Aliyev. As a result, the US is solving its problems, Azerbaijan is solving its own. And all of that again at the expense of Armenia."
