"Zhoghovurd": Alen Simonyan believes that Azerbaijan will start a war for saying "Artsakh"
The "Zhoghovurd" daily writes: "Even after the surrender of Artsakh, it remains a bone in the throat for the authorities. The authorities are afraid of war because of their own slips of the tongue."
National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan believes that Azerbaijan could provoke a new war for saying the word "Artsakh." Simonyan stated this yesterday at a briefing with reporters.
"When I say Karabakh, you say, 'You don't say Artsakh.' Take the same thing in the opposite way, that in Azerbaijan they say, 'Western Azerbaijan,' we say, 'That is a territorial claim against us.' This is what we are talking about, this is the big problem, which forces us to give correct formulations in terms of vocabulary, so as not to provoke a new war, a new attack," he said in a conversation with reporters.
Simonyan noted that Armenia has no claims to Azerbaijan. At the same time, Azerbaijan's territorial claims to Armenia do not cease. And the NA Speaker is declaring this in the event that the Azerbaijani side has illegally occupied 200 km² of territory from Armenia.
"The Prime Minister said that Armenia ends with Armavir region and Tavush. This is Armenia, this is the map that I posted in the National Assembly. I didn't post it in vain," the NA Speaker noted.
The military-political leadership of Armenia has decided that the issue of the approximately 200 km² occupied territory of Armenia, which includes the heights near Jermuk, should be resolved through peaceful negotiations. Defense Minister Suren Papikyan added during a recent press conference that this issue is addressed to the Commission on Demarcation-Demarcation and Border Security.
Alen Simonyan needs to be reminded that a few days ago, when Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev declared that the independent Armenian state is essentially a fascist state, that they are neighbors with such a fascist state that the danger of fascism does not disappear and spoke about the need to eliminate it, it was as if no government deputy had uttered the word "Artsakh" at that time.
It turns out that Armenians and Armenia are in danger of being captured by the government."
